What We Do

The East Kamloops Business Improvement Association serves businesses in the Valleyview, Dallas and Campbell Creek area. Over the next several months the BIA will conduct engagement and surveys to understand what the priorities are for our members.

The East Kamloops BIA is governed by it’s members—businesses and property owners. The volunteer Board of Directors oversees the Executive Director who works with all levels of government to meet the needs of the area. Because your BIA is controlled by you and your business neighbours, it will reflect your priorities.

The work that we can address ranges from the list below:

  • Advocacy; meeting with elected officials and city staff to endorse, take action and make moves on policies and programs that benefit EKBIA member.

  • Communication, Marketing and Promotion; we’re here to bolster efforts to attract clients, customers and more. Share your initiatives with us and we will boost them on our channels.

  • Community development; Staff and Board will represent the needs of East Kamloops businesses and endorse programs that make it more fulfilling to live, work and play in the area.

  • Economic development; supporting businesses through funding opportunities, resources and data sharing and tourism attraction to enhance spending.

  • Special events; creating and supporting special events to bring more people to East Kamloops and expose them to our businesses.

  • Public space initiatives; through programs like murals, lighting and public seating – a more pleasant public realm makes for a better East Kamloops experience.

  • Development and revitalization; instigating positive change through environmental design.

  • Safety and crime prevention; effecting change through Crime Prevention by Environmental Design (CPTED) principles, and collaborating with local government, police and community safety agencies.

  • Street beautification and enhancements; endorsing a walkable, bikeable community where people feel at ease and enjoy spending time.
